Career Advisors

Services offered by advisors include help with resumes, interviewing, networking, letter writing, and general job search tips. Each advisor works with specific majors so they stay updates with job trends in their fields in order to better help in the job search. To schedule an appointment with an advisor, please come to our office (2410 WSC) or call (422-6535).

Career Fairs

Employers from all over the United States come to BYU's Career Fairs. There are five fairs a year. See the website for dates, times and places.

eRecruiting

Using eRecruiting, students can search over 10,000 job listings, find internships, apply for jobs, search for company contact information, view event schedules and market themselves to employers. Career Placement pulls resumes from this database for employers and sends emails to registered participants about job matches.

Alumni Career Services

Employers throughout the country post hundreds of job listings per week on this site. An impressive alumni networking list is also available. Students and slumni can register on the alumni job search database. Once on this database, individuals receive listings of jobs that match their profile.

Global Career

Global Career helps alumni and students looking for international job opportunities. The website offers links to major newspapers for most countries, Visa information, country specific resume help, internships, and international job fairs.

Workshops

To help students with the job application process Career Placement offers four different workshops, which include: resume writing, cover and thank you letters, networking, and interviewing. Each on hour workshop is designed to help students have an advantage as they search for jobs.

Managing Career Transitions (STDEV 317)

This course offers one BYU credit. It is designed for students who are anticipating, preparing for, and managing the critical transition from university work to the world of work. Career development and practical strategies are taught in order to facilitate the job search and advancement process.
