Graduate Program

Foreign Applicants

Applicants from other countries follow the regular application procedure. The bachelor's degree requirements may be waived if the University Admissions Office evaluates the applicant's academic record as being equivalent to a bachelor's degree earned in the United States. One or more Spring/Summer sessions may be required for additional pre-professional study.

The main requirements for international students have been set forth in a "Preliminary International Application For Graduate Study." (see GS Form 3) This is a prescreening questionnaire which helps foreign students determine whether or not it is worth their time to initiate the rather lengthy application process. For the questionnaire, visit the link above or mail a request to:

If the answer to all prescreening questions is an unqualified ''yes'', then a full set of application materials may be requested.

Foreign students applying for admission will be required to furnish evidence of their ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend English. The test for evaluating language proficiency is the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) administered by the Educational Testing Service, Princeton, New Jersey, U.S.A.. Results of this test must be within the last two years (TOEFL scores must be less than two years old at the time of your admissions) and must be forwarded to the University Admissions Office. Alternate tests, such as IELTS, may be used. Foreign students whose native language is English, or who have completed their degree in a foreign institution where English is the language of instruction, or who have graduated from an American institution, are exempt from this requirement.

In addition to meeting the requirements described above, federal law requires applicants from foreign countries to prove their finances in order to obtain a student Visa.
