With an MSW you are able to help a wide variety of people in a wide variety of roles. It is an all-utility degree.
Why did you choose BYU's Social Work program?
First of all, BYU offers a great clinical degree. If you want to be a clinician/therapist, this is the place to go. Second, this degree will challenge you to become a better person if you let it, and combining gospel learning with the MSW program is one of the best ways to improve yourself as a person.
What are your career goals?
Since I served in the Air Force, my career goal is to find the best way to serve our veterans and men and women in uniform.
Tell us about your BYU internship experience(s)
My first internship was at the VA hospital in Grand Junction, CO. It gave me a great breadth of experience: individual and group counseling, inpatient and outpatient settings, and community organization.
