What were your thoughts on deciding to pursue an MSW degree?
I had previously been a teacher and wanted to understand the social problems that students experienced.
Why did you choose BYU’s social work program?
I wanted training that recognized God and provided spiritual insight and education.
What are your career goals/aspirations?
I hope to use my skills and knowledge in humanitarian service.
On the family experience at BYU?
I made some wonderful friends while in the social work program and served in my assigned church ward.
Tell us about your BYU internship experience(s)
During the Summer I interned at Primary Children's Child Protection program for sexually abused children and families as well as youth perpetrators and their families.
Fall Winter: BYU Counseling and Development Center. Both internships were invaluable to me and very rewarding experiences, as was my part time job in the Women's Center.
How did BYU’s MSW program prepare you for your career?
My training not only led to a good job but also to an opportunity to teach classes at BYU.
